Sound Tech + Rock


Musicians will learn how to manage the sound of instruments, social media promotion, and rock with friends. This course is designed based on the Audio and Video Equipment Technician certification program to help musicians and music lovers feel confident in skills before entering the program. Weekly two-hour sessions include a class followed by hands-on learning band experience. This series will conclude with managing sound of a recital as well as a debut performance as a band. Each week will focus and build on the following areas: Equipment, Mixing, Recording, Social Media, Performance, and Event Management.

$360 for 7-week class, band practice, and recital experience ($10 Off until Monday, September 23rd)

Maureen O. Dinsmore, M.A., MT-BC

Maureen “Mo” Dinsmore is a Board-certified music therapist and Director of Neurodevelopment and Rehabilitation at MusicWorx Inc. in San Diego, California. Maureen received her Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from Augsburg College in 2007 and Master’s in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music in 2018. She began working at MusicWorx in 2018; however, has worked as a music therapist in San Diego for almost 10 years. Prior to moving to San Diego, Mo worked for over two years as music therapist at an autism day treatment facility in Minneapolis, MN.

Mo has worked intensely in rehabilitation and neuro-developmental settings for the past decade and holds specializations as a Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) and is certified in DIR/Floortime by the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning, Inc. (ICDL).  She has experience working with bands and musicians of all ages and abilities and serves to provide a platform to highlight their strengths through music.

Arabella Harrison, Assistant Music Director at the School of Rock, Encinitas

Arabella Harrison graduated with a degree in Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music and spent over a decade as both a touring musician and a composer/producer/engineer of television and radio music. After changing careers from working musician to mother, Arabella has further explored her passion for helping others through music. Arabella Harrison is the Assistant Music Director at the School of Rock, Encinitas, and a student in the Music Therapy Equivalency Distance program at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Indiana, currently working with MusicWorx, Inc. in her third practicum study. In her free time, Arabella enjoys being thoroughly bested by her nine-year-old son in all types of games.
