The AudAbility series increases quality and volume of the voice, relieves stress, and teaches new skills for people with Parkinson’s Disease. In this highly interactive program, participants will engage in mindfulness exercises, physical warm-ups, and vocal warm-ups to prepare the body and mind for active music making through singing and musical instrument play.

This summer class also includes introductions to harmonica, piano, drumming, and ukulele!

Music therapy, an engaging, interactive, goal-focused and fun therapy, has been shown to be an effective tool in improving cognitive, speech, motor, and social skills as well as increasing quality of life for People with Parkinson’s and their Care Partners. At MusicWorx, we offer several music therapy programs for People with Parkinson’s and their Care Partners to meet varying needs and abilities. On top of the many group programs that MusicWorx offers, there are also opportunities to take private harmonica, piano, vocal, guitar, and ukulele lessons that are adapted based on individual learning style, ability, and need.

AudAbility: Fall Session

AudAbility is a music therapy course for People with Parkinson’s and their Care Partners that is taught by a board-certified music therapist specially trained to use music to address vocal, motor, and social challenges that often accompany a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease. Learn harmonica, piano, and singing skills to better your life! The AudAbility series increases quality and volume of the voice, relieves stress, and teaches new skills. In this highly interactive program, participants will engage in mindfulness exercises, physical warm-ups, and vocal warm-ups to prepare the body and mind for active music making through singing and musical instrument play. No previous musical experience necessary.
