MT-BCs: We’re Hiring!

MusicWorx is happy to announce that we are seeking to add another full-time Board-Certified music therapist to our clinical team! The company executive office is located near Del Mar in north coastal San Diego County, California.  Music therapists may provide services throughout San Diego County.  Mileage reimbursement is provided between locations.

 

Start Date: 

The start date for this position is January 3-17, 2022.

 

The Right Candidate:

  • Has a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy or equivalent
  • Two years of clinical experience is preferable
  • Is passionate about working in medical, hospice, and older adult settings; within a relationship-centered, patient-centered framework
  • Is a skilled clinical musician, strong in voice, guitar, and piano
  • Enjoys a variety of clientele and clinical settings
  • Wants to contribute to the field of music therapy
  • Has an interest in product and program development
  • Is a dependable, responsible team player looking for a work family
  • Is committed to advocating for our profession at the regional and national level
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Can successfully complete a background check, TB test, drug test, and COVID test (required by the hospitals and older adult facilities)
  • Has comfort and familiarity with Google products (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, and GDrive)
  • Has reliable transportation
  • Has interpersonal skills that excel in cultural sensitivity and respect for differences
  • Has a desire to be part of a fun and dynamic team of music therapists!!

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Music Therapy:
    1. Working with a variety of clients in multiple settings, primarily:
      1. Older adult settings
      2. Medical settings
      3. Hospice settings
  • Facilitate both group and individual sessions
  • Document impact on a regular and timely basis
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to MusicWorx interns during services and through personal meetings, if applicable.
  • Facilitate business growth through networking and customer service
  • Time Commitment: Hours vary Monday – Saturday and may include occasional evenings
  • Event Assistance – Attend and participate in event-related activities and meetings as requested
  • Exercise good judgment and confidentiality in dealing with patients, volunteers, and staff
  • Additional tasks may be assigned based on agency need

Reporting Relationships:  Supervised by a designated Senior Leadership Team member
