Favorite Part about internship: The interactions with the clients/patients. Being able to make such beautiful human connections with such a diverse range of people every day.
Hardest Part about internship: being far away from family.

Favorite Part about the Internship: Not only do you get to work with a wide variety of populations, but the team of interns and staff also bring so much diversity; the learning process is never ending!
Hardest Part about the Internship: We do a lot… but from this we also gain a lot
Favorite place to chill in SD: The beach of course! Pacific Beach and Coronado are two of my favorites
What I do for fun: Anything outdoors (biking, beach, hiking)

Favorite part about internship: The wide variety of populations that I get to work with and the opportunity to observe many great music therapists.
What you won’t miss!: The chaotic busy days.
Favorite place to chill in SD: Too many to say, pretty much any beach two particulars La Jolla Cove and Coronado Beach I really enjoy.
What you do for fun: Dancing, talking with friends, walking and relaxing on the beach.
Current favorite band/artist: Well it really depends on the day but right now I am listening to Norah Jones so I will go with her…. for now 😉

What is ONE thing you’d like to tell a soon-to-be intern?: Embrace each day to the fullest! Do not be hesitant or shy to try something new. The best way to learn is through experience and now is the time to do it!

Favorite part about internship: The vast amount of poplulations we get to serve and interact with is incredible. Each interaction that I share with a team member, individual or group is inspiring and teaches me something about myself.
Hardest part of internship: Packing the carts with dozens of drums on really hot days… then having the bungee chord get loose and all the drums waterfall down to the ground ::sigh::
Favorite place to chill in SD: I’m pretty biased to where my apartment is: Mission Beach. It’s pretty stellar. I have the beach to one side of me and the bay to the other. I love have 360 degrees on boardwalk around me, Belmont Park, Beachcomber bar, and an awesome mexican quick grab restaurant. I love all the little gems of SD (restaurants, the Cove, scenic areas).
What you do for fun: I love to draw, paint, arts and crafts, bake (especially cupcakes!), go to the beach and travel.
Current favorite band/artist: I’m pretty partial to Adele, Regina Spektor, and The Weepies. Of course The Spice Girls will always rule my heart.
SongWriting/Lyric Analysis, Music Making, Relaxation, or Creative Arts? Creative Arts! I’m currently obsessed with Drama Therapy techniques mixed with Music and Art Therapy. Totally remarkable stuff.
Favorite Color: Pink and Yellow- and not pastels… bright hues.
What is ONE thing you’d like to tell a soon-to-be intern?: Don’t panic! It’ll all work out. Music has this crazy way- if you play a wrong chord… it goes away… sometimes the best therapeutic lessons are “in the moment”
Any other comments you’d like to make about internship in general: MusicWorx rocks! The experience is one-of-a-kind. I’m going to have to much more under my belt when I leave this internship, and I’ll be fully prepared for whatever I want to do with my career. Barbara is a business mastermind… trust her advice.
