Who MusicWorx Serves and What MusicWorx Provides
MusicWorx clients are agencies, corporations, and organizations that contract music therapy and wellness services. MusicWorx patients are the recipients of music therapy services.
When MusicWorx services health care clients—such as convalescent care centers, hospice, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers—the recipients of therapy typically are recovering from or learning to cope with disability, illness, or injury.
When MusicWorx services wellness clients—such as spas and lifestyle programs—the recipients of therapy are in good general health but want to learn techniques to optimize and maintain their health.
When MusicWorx services corporate clients, the recipients of therapy are employees eager to develop and enhance leadership, communication and stress-management skills, and wellness.

Music as Medicine Class for
Cancer Support Groups
“I want to take this opportunity to thank you once again for the extremely uplifting experience brought to our group through your music therapy program. As a breast cancer survivor and facilitator, my goal is to provide support for women during a most terrifying experience in their lives. The overall purpose of our group is to help participants learn about themselves in relation to cancer. Our group tends to increase, and, perhaps, intensify social activity at a time when participation in former activities tends to slow down due to illness.
One of my specific objectives is to provide a place for catharsis, for release of pent-up feelings of grief, fear, and anger in an outgoing structure that can help people master feelings that have accompanied their traumatic experience.
Music therapy has afforded me the opportunity to provide this cathartic experience, therefore, proving to be a most valuable tool in our group setting. An overwhelmingly positive response has been reported by all group participants, as well as requests for repeat performances. The women reported feeling less burdened, experiencing a sense of relief form feelings of isolation as well as alienation.
I feel your program will benefit my cause greatly as I maintain an upbeat positive attitude which if feel is crucial towards the women’s healing journey. We would like to implement your program on a quarterly basis in conjunction with other periodic guest speakers, in order to, not only support, but also educate ourselves during our cancer careers. Let there be music!”—Sue E.
