Name: Sarah Sendlbeck (6/11-11/11)

School: Nazareth College, NY

Favorite part about internship: The vast amount of poplulations we get to serve and interact with is incredible. Each interaction that I share with a team member, individual or group is inspiring and teaches me something about myself.

Hardest part of internship: Packing the carts with dozens of drums on really hot days… then having the bungee chord get loose and all the drums waterfall down to the ground ::sigh::

Favorite place to chill in SD: I’m pretty biased to where my apartment is: Mission Beach.  It’s pretty stellar.  I have the beach to one side of me and the bay to the other.  I love have 360 degrees on boardwalk around me, Belmont Park, Beachcomber bar, and an awesome mexican quick grab restaurant. I love all the little gems of SD (restaurants, the Cove, scenic areas).

What you do for fun: I love to draw, paint, arts and crafts,  bake (especially cupcakes!), go to the beach and travel.

Current favorite band/artist: I’m pretty partial to Adele, Regina Spektor, and The Weepies. Of course The Spice Girls will always rule my heart.

SongWriting/Lyric Analysis, Music Making, Relaxation, or Creative Arts? Creative Arts! I’m currently obsessed with Drama Therapy techniques mixed with Music and Art Therapy. Totally remarkable stuff.

Favorite Color: Pink and Yellow- and not pastels… bright hues.

What is ONE thing you’d like to tell a soon-to-be intern?: Don’t panic! It’ll all work out. Music has this crazy way- if you play a wrong chord… it goes away… sometimes the best therapeutic lessons are “in the moment”
